Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • All authors acknowledge that if accepted for publication, the submission of this manuscript will be published in the Journal of Traffic Control Device Research.
  • All authors confirm that the publishing of this manuscript does not conflict with any other copyrights or other restrictions.
  • All authors certify that the research conducted does not report data collected from human subjects, or if human subjects data are used, it has been approved by an Institutional Review Board.
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word format.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font equivalent to Times New Roman; includes page numbers at the bottom and center of each page; and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • References are numbered and called out in numerical order in the text and use a consistent style throughout the submission.
  • All authors understand that authors retain the copyright to their work and therefore may use any submission in whole or in part for other purposes.

Author Guidelines

For consistency purposes, the following submission guidelines are provided:

  • Review Files must be in a Microsoft Word file format
  • Page size must be 8.5” x 11” with normal margins
  • The content must be single spaced
  • Font must be Times New Roman at 12 pt size
  • Papers must be submitted in English
  • Papers must include a title page with title, authors, email addresses, and affiliations. The title page is not included in the page count.
  • Tables and figures should be incorporated in the document, near the text that discusses the item
  • Page numbers must be included at the bottom center of each page
  • References should be numbered and called out in numerical order in the text
  • Papers must use a consistent reference style
